No one being is in charge of everything, not even God really. Everything is in charge of everything. But each one of us can be in charge of ourselves, and in fact we actually are. We can influence our environment, and we do. It's just that we do all of this very ignorantly, haphazardly, abdicating our lives to a host of others, strangers and friends alike, to society as a whole. Then we complain about the limitations and pain we experience.

We are unlimited beings in a limited, yet ever renewing, environment, with limited bodies and minds. If we choose to maximize our involvement in our lives in the most proactive manner, our environment responds in kind, stretching itself to its utmost boundaries. Then we truly live, not just exist. And we enjoy everything the Universe has to offer.

On the other hand, we can also choose to completely develop ourselves to our utmost potential, and yet withdraw from the world. Again our environment responds to assist us in attaining Self-Realization in this manner in our time.
