You can be you, or you can be others’ versions of you. It is up to you. The choice to be you is almost no choice actually. If you love yourself enough, you will automatically just be you, not a collection of others’ ideas and impressions of you, who you should be, what you should do, how you should feel and think, etc. We may learn and grow from others’ views of us, but if we really truly love ourselves, we inevitably just enjoy being who we are regardless of others’ opinions and actions - even those closest to us. There may be some suffering in this process, yet we bear it with inner joy, which flows from the bliss of our Being.
